October 20th, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a one-hour break included.
Foray into the delicate yet enchanting realm of watercolor painting with guest artist Maryam Hosseini. In this class, you will create a painting from start to finish over the course of three 3-hour days under the careful guidance of a true watercolor master. Maryam’s aim is to help you understand the fundamentals of painting, colours and techniques that are integral to creating a striking final result. Ready to start your journey? MASTERCLASS BREAKDOWN
OCTOBER 19, DAY 1
Demo - 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Students will enjoy a 3-hour demo by the master herself. The demo will enable students to witness the step-by-step painting process first-hand and ask questions.
OCTOBER 20, DAY 2
Session 1 - 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Students will begin on their own artwork. The focus of this 3-hour class is painting using a limited colour palette.
Lunch Break - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Session 2 - 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Students will place final touches on their pieces and adjust the values in their work during this 3-hour class.
The instructor will be present in class to guide each piece to completion.
MATERIALS
-Watercolor Brushes (Round #4, #8, #10)
-Watercolor Paints (Any set is ok. Better quality paints produce better results. If purchasing individual colours, please search for the following colours as the instructor will be using them for her piece: Burnt Sienna, Orange, Hansa Yellow, Hooker’s Green, Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Indigo Blue.)
-Good Quality Masking Fluid + Cheap #4 Brush (Brush will be used to apply masking fluid. Please do not buy a good quality brush as masking fluid is harsh on bristles.)
-Pre-prepared paper will be provided by the instructor on the day of the masterclass. Please do not bring your own. Paper that will be provided is Cold-Press, 140lb Watercolour Paper, for anyone curious.
